How to Do the Transformers Scratching Technique

What's up? This is D.J. Colione on behalf of expertvillage.com and in this clip I am going to show you a scratch called transformers. This is probably the most basic scratch of while you are using a fader and essentially it is a baby scratch but you are just basically turning the fader on and off. Any sort of rhythm pattern there isn't something specific, you are just opening the fader on certain beats and scratching record. So you get the standard scratch sound, right? This is your baby, right with the fader open and all you are going to do is just open and close the fader. You cannot do it half hazardously whichever way you want. All I'm doing is moving the record back and forth and I am just chopping the fader on and off. You get a pretty cool sound, right? For the record and you get the transformer. From that you can do a bunch of different scratches. I mean if you just sort of hack it on and off you will probably be doing technically some other scratches. This is a good way to get used to doing your timing and controlling the pitch. So with your fader hand you could either do a quarter beats or you can go a 1 and a 2 and a 3 and a 4 or whatever you want to do to get your different sounds, but alter your pattern and the speed of the record will be able to get some cool stuff. And those are transformers.
