How to Do a Test Print for Fax Machine Use

Hi! I’m Mark Westling with All Brands Copiers, Laser Printers and Fax on behalf of expertvillage.com I’m going to talk to you a little bit about why you might want to make a test print on your fax machine and how to do that. Now all machines are different and each manufacturer has a different method of running the test print, I’m going to show you on this machine but you’ll probably have to refer to your owners manual to find out the specific instructions for your machine. The reason why you would want to run a test print is first of all to see how your print machine is functioning, also it’s separates the scanner from the printer, so if you’re having a copy quality problem if the copy that you make through the scanner is dirty but the test print is clean you know you have a problem in the scanner and that needs to be cleaned, if it works the other way and it’s dirty both ways then you know you have a problem with the print system and you need to go ahead and have that portion of the machine serviced. On this particular machine there’s a menu button if I press the menu button it gives me a main menu and some options, I can now scroll through those options to an option called reports when I enter the reports option the first thing available to me is a demo page that’s what I want to go ahead and print, so when that’s up on the screen I just press enter again and it’s going to go ahead and printout my demo page or test print, that should be coming up in just a second I’ll show it to you, you’ll see that it’s very simple and it really is a great tool in troubleshooting problems with fax machines and especially with laser printers and there we go one test print.
