This is Leslie Sack with expertvillage.com my website is lesliesack.com and the dance I'm teaching is the west coast swing. This is a men part for a open whip. Alright it is a 8 count pattern and the most important count is number one. What you are going to do is in the footwork is actually the same as the rock wipe is that you are leading is different. So you are going to bring around one and you are going to do a full stir with your left hand, bring towards you and then you are going to do a little push this a little bit to your left. That first turn at the end of the one so 1,2,3 and 4, step forward, forward, triple step. So from this direction choose one hand 1,2,3 and 4, 5,6,7 and 8, you bring her in and catch her, she whips out, 4,5,6,7 and 8. From here its 1,2,3 and 4, 5,6,7 and 8, she whips out on a 3 and 4. 1,2,3 and 4, 5,6 just let here lead the most important count is the one and she just has to know her part. So don't feel line you have to wipe her in to anything crazy just let her ride her ride and you are almost going to feel like you are falling on her through the middle of the pattern. So that is the open whip for the guys.
