How to Drill a Hole for the Latch of a Deadbolt Lock

Hi! I'm Daniel on behalf of Expert Village. In this particular clip, we are going to be marking for the strike where the deadbolt actually goes into the casing. It could be a little bit difficult but as you see if you have a punch, you could pretty much eyeball it. What we are going to do is we are simply going to look through the hole here and through the latch hole also and we are just going to eyeball the center and we are just going to put a punch and just mark in right in. So as we put that in you notice that as it sits right there. Also what you are going to do at this point, is just press it in leaving us a nice mark hole. So as you can see once we got the door open and you could see our mark right here in the door and we'll push in just a little harder, make sure that we get a nice firm mark right there and now we are ready to drill.
