Layering Beats With the Akai MPC 2000XL Drum Machine

Hi, I’m Amir from Precision Audio Productions and on behalf of Expert Village we’re going to talk about layering samples in the MPC 2000XL. First what we do is press shift program, cause we have to go to the program menu. Choose program on drum 1 where all the samples are. What we’re going to do is we’re going to lay a disc snare with this clap. So what we have to do is take out snare, go back to the snare, select that and go to the mode and mode we’re going to is the simultaneously mode, go over. We have to know what note number our clap is on, so click that and we look at the note number which is 38, go back to our snare, go over and type in 38 for also play note 38 when we hit our snare. Then test it and now we have snare and our clap layered. Then we go back to our main menu and every time we hit the snare, we’ll hit a clap.
