Finishing the Decking: How to Build a Small Stage
Hi I'm Grady Johnson and I'm the producer of Strange Company and today I'm representing expertvillage.com. Okay now we have quickly assemble this stage for our production and what we want to do now is we want to tie it all together with a new deck. Now the basic deck that we put on here with some half inch press board which isn't very sturdy but that is all we need to do for the basic assemble. Now to tie it all in and tighten it up we are going to lay two more pieces of ply wood on top. This is half inch ply wood. Regular ply wood not press board. Now the way that I actually laying these the other direction and then we are going to screw them in. that way we have decks going this way and decks going that way and make it even more sturdy. Now that our framing is all done we are going to put the deck on and this would finish the actual wood construction of it and then we would be ready to paint. So lets go ahead and screw this deck down. Just pop down your four corners and then your job is going to be easy. Once that I get these four corners shut I like to go ahead and get the other one in place and to that four corners as well. Then start filling in from there and like I said again you want to go about a foot but you also want to be sure this thing is going to punch in where it is suppose to go. Okay that is the last screw so everything is done we have put all of the screws in on our deck. We got two decks on it, we got bracing, we got a fully build stage. Now this stage is fine we could work on it just like this but we are going to go ahead and dress it up a little bit more put a coat on it.
