Hi! My name is Connie Hale and thank you for joining me here at expertvillage.com. We are learning some beginner ballet moves in bar work. If you are interested in taking some ballet or for your daughter or son, you could join us at Cynergy Dance at Thousand Oaks in San Antonio or visit us at www.cynergydance.com. We are going to go ahead and move on to some fouette; fouettes starting in a fifth position. The foot is going to join us up in the air, flexed, heel is just at the bottom of the shin. It is going to brush front with the toe with the point. Almost like the degage, the degage will come from the floor front and for fouette we are going to start up in a flex position and brush the floor with our toe, brush and point, bring it back, brush and back, point and flex. To the side we have in the same position on to the side, just brushing out to the side now, fouette out and in, out and in. This is a lot of work for your brain as well because your foot needs to be told to point and flex at the right time. Turn to the back; we start in the back of the foot with a flexed foot brush back and in, back and in, brush in, brush and in; again these are fouette's. Doing it around we start off to the front. Foot is flexed to the front and we go front, 2, 3, 4 and side. 1, 2, 3 and 4 back, 1, 2, 3 and 4 and those are fouette's. Thanks for joining me guys.
Why is the video called "how to do a fouette?" when Connie Hale is saying the frappe?
and it's barre not bar.
and you don't ever say "the fouette" anyway
That's a frappe - not fouette.
