How to Plie in Ballet Dancing

Hi! Welcome to expertvillage.com. My name is Connie Hale and we learning some beginning ballet moves. We are going to go on to some plie's Demmy and Grohn plie and we are going to begin with our feet in first position where our heels touch together. If you have a bar at advanced studio or a chair at home or a dresser, whatever you would like to use for balance, is perfectly fine. We have our arm up and socked to the side. I want your pretend body is the trunk of a tree or make the branch a little looser and the hand is the leaf very soft. We begin with the plie's simply bending our knees open, down and up; down and up. Facing the side you can see; down and up. Plie is as if you are going between two walls but you can't lean forward, no ducks at the bar and you can't lean this way. All right. It is simple; straight up and down and up. So a Demi plie is a small Demi. Grohn plea is bringing it down. Heels are actually going to come off the ground for a Grohn plea. Arms are going to bring down and out. Plie in first and then plea into second position. I like to jump right to fourth and in a fourth position plie, make sure the weight is distributed equally on both feet. Bring it into fifth and again it means open plie. So that is your plie's in first, second, third, fourth and fifth position, Demi and Grohn plie.
