How to Make a Loop When DJing
Hey this is DJ Brady again on behalf of ExpertVillage.com. In this clip, I’m going to demonstrate how to make a loop. Most professional cd players will come with a loop function, let’s start the music. I’m going to use the ‘In’ button to start the loop, the ‘Out’ button will set the end point of the loop and then I can press it again and it will release the loop. Let’s start on the down beat. Now it will continue to loop as you see in the counter until I release it. I can release it one of two ways, using the ‘Out’ button or the re-loop. I’ll let it play on for a second. If I push re-loop again it will start my loop again. You can tell when a loop is in function because of the flashing indicators. We’ll let it go on. I’ll set one more loop for demonstration. I’ll set a very short loop, with just one beat. Now as you can tell, that wasn’t quite right, so I can adjust the output time, wrong way, and then release it. This is handy for many different things, one if you want to extend an intro and outro while you’re making announcements or if you just wanted to change up the mix a little bit.
