Removing a Broken Thermostat
Today we’re replacing a thermostat will not cut off, it just continuously runs. Inside the A/C closet, which is right around the corner, there’s a light switch kind of like this one without a plate on it and you’re going to turn that off. Once that’s off- if you’re A/C does not shut right off, it will in a few minutes- you just pop the cover and then you want to unscrew your old thermostat and you’re going to have to take a box cutter or this is a Formica knife, and if you use a Formica knife be really careful. You just want to cut around the cover of your thermostat and pull it off the wall. And that’s how you would remove the old thermostat.
