Hello! On behalf of expertvillage.com, my name is Bryan Pemberton from the Reserve at Spanos Park and today we are going to talk a little bit about the equipment in putting. This putter right here is actually just your standard basic putter. It is a face balance putter made by Ping. It all has a line here in the back and it is one of your standard putters by Ping and actually when you set up to it, it is also face balance. Face balance means when you hold it you are going to have a face that is horizontal like this and it will stay parallel to the ground. Again, this is for your direction when you are actually putting. It has less room for air in rotating the head. So again, that is just one of the theories that they have come up with in putting. There is also a blade putter that would be just the opposite of face balance and it would set like this. So it doesn't necessarily mean that these putters are better or worse; it is actually just more of a preference. Again, some of the best players actually use blade putters. Okay the other putter we are looking at here, this putter right here is also a face down putter. It is really set up more for a visual affect. The visual affect would be these two balls here and it is actually set up so that it is easier to line up and your stroke is going to be a little more fluent aiming towards the hole because of the two balls. When you actually set another ball up here and you have this ball here, what you will see is it is easier to line up and again, it's just more of a visual affect to aid the golfer in his stroke and also aiming the putter. The other putter we will talk about is what they call a long putter. There is a lot of different versions of long putters and they now have belly putters which are you grip them a little bit different but this putter right here is basically a heavy putter and a lot of times people will go to long putters with maybe they called a yips or it just a little bit more easier to control. They are definitely a little bit easier to aim the putter and again when you stand pretty close to it you are going to notice the golfer will stand a lot closer to the ball with a long putter or a belly putter than you would with a conventional putter. Again, there are lots of different ways to hold this putter and they've got 2 separate grips here and one of them would be a clog grip but basically on a long putter you always want to anchor and that is the different thing that you do as opposed to a conventional putter. A conventional putter you are going to have it in your hands away from you. With a long putter you are going to anchor it. So a belly putter and a long putter you are definitely going to anchor it. That is basically how it works. You anchor it on your body and then you will learn that from there.
