Turkey Wheels Recipe

Hi! I’m Nili Nathan with Lisa LeBar, we’re doing a kids cooking and what is next, I actually have some awesome turkey wheels or you can call them turkey rollups, turkey wheels or turkey wheelets. Oh, just another fun name for the kids to enjoy the fact that there’s coming up some nice and nutritious food as they don’t need to know about nutritious. And I noticed that you’re using sprouted green tortillas, I am I actually love these, these are great you can buy them at any health food store and of course you know the big health food stores always carry these type things. And why use sprouted? I love sprouted, sprouted grain tortillas and that’s what these are as I flip it down, I love these because they’re so much more nutritious, obviously there’s not flour in this at all so it actually helps with your sugar levels also, so that’s always nice too cause we want to increase the sugars at all in our food. We’re going to go ahead and smear that up with some cream cheese make it even more delicious and I actually because there’s a little fat in that cream cheese it slows down all the rest of the sugars that would happen if you just ate this by itself which is nice. We add a couple slices of turkey, some cucumber just for a little added crunch and a little fun ness and then we just roll it up and we’re good to go. So I’ll go ahead and smear this up just put a little small it doesn’t have to be too much on there unless we really love the cream cheese, get it on the ends so this way when you roll it up it almost acts like a little bit of glue. I get some more cucumbers going here and a cucumber is a vegetable that most kids will agree to eat, they enjoy cucumber, cucumbers are definitely one of those vegetables, so you don’t even have to cheat and puray it or anything like that and they’re very hydrating they have a lot of water on them, couple of slices on one side will work, a little bit of cucumber. This is also something that the kids can also help mommy with and prepare, exactly cause they’ll have fun rolling it up and smearing it and everything else. You can also add a little bit of salt, a little oregano, a little garlic depending on you know your kids taste, some kids like things a little bit more bland we should say so we’re trying to keep the spice and all that down, so we go ahead and just roll this up, occasionally a cucumber might sneak out the side and as you can see right here at the end it’s kind of stuck together, so you don’t necessarily have to have the tortilla or excuse me the toothpicks but they do kind of help you know in case it likes to unravel on its own.
