Making Vegan Chocolate Mousse Using Avocados
Hi! Nili Nathan with Chef Aj on behalf of Expert Village you are watching the healthy cooking series and this episode is on healthy desserts. And today dessert is not only healthy, it is not only vegan but it is actually raw completely raw. Which mean? Well it means that people who are raw foodest that don't eat anything that is cooked over a 118 degrees Fahrenheit they could eat it, it has all the enzymes and I'm sure you know a lot about it so. Raw food is fruits, vegetables, nuts, seed, that are uncooked. Right. And today we are using one of my favorite fruits which is avocados to tell if a avocados is ripe you could kind of squish it this way, squish it this way you might leave a bruise for the next person. You know avocados have the good fat. That is right the manio, manio unsaturated which is good for us. And good for your hair, good for you skin, you could make a great mask with them. You know I don't know if you ever heard of health institute but one thing that they thought us is never put anything on your face or on your body that you wouldn't put in your body. A avocados are wonderful. So you are using how many of them? I'm using four organic ripe avocados and the pits, there is a way that I could teach you to get the pit out but they are ripe like this they actually just fall out actually. Those look good. They are yummy. You are probably thinking to yourself that I'm making a chocolate mousse like chocolate mousse with avocados it kind of sounds gross but the thing is that traditional mousses have things like butter, cream, and eggs the mouth fill and the fat in the avocados will give the receipt the same thing and I trust you by the time that we finish it, it would not be green. And you are adding something that is good for you. What I love about raw desserts is when you eat a traditional dessert a cook food dessert whether if it has sugar or not you are eating things like sugar and flour and raw eggs. These are not food you would never sit down, well some people might, but I would not eat flour, I wouldn't eat sugar by it self, but every component of my dessert is something that you could eat by yourself. You could eat a avocado and you would be getting the nutrient and all the benefits of the avocado. I cant wait to see this. So That is what excites me so much about raw desserts.
