Preparing a Pot of Brown Rice for Macrobiotic Cooking

Hi I'm Christian Morgan on behalf of Expert Village in macrobiotics we .... eat a lot of grain. This is brown rice we also have milic and .... there is a variety of different grains that you could eat and this is brown rice. I'm going to show you how to prepare a pot of brown rice. First you are going to wash and soak. You want to get all the dirt of the rice because it is pretty dirty. You also want to get the enzymes inhibitors out of the rice. So when you are washing it you are going to rub it together like this to get all of the dirt off. I always use filter water. I have filter on my sink but, if you don't have a filter it is best to get spring water and then you are going to drain the water and then you are just going to keep doing that until all of the rice is clean and all the water is clear. So you don't want to have dirty rice. So once I'm done washing the rice I'm going to fill it back up with water to cover. So that I could soak it over night. After you drain the rice we are going to fill this back up. You want to soak your grains 6-8 hours. What I like to do is I'll do this right before I go to bed and then I will cover it and leave it and in the morning I make my pot of rice.
