Changing the Blade on Hand Held Power Planer

Rob McMahon for Expert Village. We are going to change the blade now. Now it is at this point where I am happy that this plane only has one blade. It’s got an onboard Allen wrench which is a nice touch. They fit into these screws here and here we go. Now this is a carbide blade. It is sharp on both edges. When one side gets dull or you hit too many nails, you simply flip it and slide it right back into place. It’s got a groove here as a guide. Now you want to get it flush, keep it flush with the cylinder there and re-tighten it. It is as simple as that. This is actually the easiest planer that I have ever owned to change a blade on and there is only one. Now replace the Allen wrench and you are done.
