More Finger Picking Patterns for Guitar
Hi this is Jeff Isbell on behalf of ExpertVillage.com. I thought you might have been tired of that old intro music I was playing so I decided to play something different for today. Well here are some more picking patterns and let’s get right into them. This is just a continuation or an extension of the previous pattern. Thumb, one , two, three. Three, two, one, thumb. And then you practice that, nice and slowly. So that you can’t make any mistakes. I made a little bobble there. And then you want to move on, without stopping on the third string. In other words, turn it right back around. Thumb, one , two, three, two, one, thumb, one , two, three, two, one, thumb. Now I’m going to move up to a C chord here. And I’m going to add my forth finger. Thumb, one , two, three, four. Four, three, two, one, thumb. I’m doing it this quickly to save time in the lesson, but you should practice it very slowly, or even slower than this. And then eventually. It’s very useful when you have a chord and you want to add a single melody note to it, here’s an example. So I hope that’s helpful.
