Conditioning Tips for Advanced Boxers

I’m saying, like for people that are just looking to get in shape and stuff like that, it’s a good physical workout to get in shape and to get you in condition, get your heart rate up, get you learning about certain things, good discipline and it’s a great sport and workout to do. But right now, normally you’ll do about four or five rounds of jumping rope, but we’re going to give him like two rounds. This is just to show you exactly what takes place. Now how hard is it to jump rope? Jump rope is not really hard; it’s just that you’ve got to have the rhythm. You’ve got to have the rhythm, just get your rhythm going. It’s basically cardio; you want to get your rhythm going side to side, you never want to jump in one spot, so it’s constantly side to side. Then, add some tricks, squats, stuff like that. How long do you do this for? For a round or two, probably between fifteen and twenty minutes. But if he normally would do it, it would be like a round or like if I had him jump rope I’d tell him to do three bells. Show me some of the jump rope, some of the moves for our viewers, to show the different techniques of jumping rope. Well, this is the basic style of jumping rope, this is side to side. This is the basic. And what else? You can run with the rope, you can double tie, double jump, or you can reverse it and go backwards. That’s basically some of the basic tricks. You can squat, crisscross, stuff like that. You want to exercise on one foot. You know you can dance. The basics.
