Hello, I’m Jacob Garcia with JGG Fitness Denver. On behalf of ExpertVillage.com, I want to show you how to do a proper exercise ball resistance crunch. Now this exercise is very similar to the exercise ball crunch only we’re going to be adding some resistance with a free weight machine. So, what you’re going to do is you’re going to sit on this exercise ball and walk forward and go ahead and turn around and grab the handles that are already adjusted to the free weight machine. Now I’ve got about 20 pounds connected to it, but you don’t really need that much resistance for this exercise. You’re going to have your feet flat on the ground at about a 90 degree angle and have your pelvis tilted toward the ceiling as you go back and just crunch up. Thinking about your belly button going directly towards your spine and your head lies as if it’s curling up into your body. Now you should be able to do about 12 to 15 of these. If you only get about 8 or 10 or so, you might have too much weight on the free weight machine. When you’re finished, gently put your hands back until the machine resistance is off, let go of the handles and slowly walk yourself back up to a seated position where you can safely get off the exercise ball.
