Hi this is CJ South representing expertvillage.com. In this clip I'm going to show you the capture settings tab inside of the log and capture window. Now I will cover the capture settings tab. Most of this you should be pretty familiar with by now. Device control right here, you know you can choose between firewire, or like I said if you are going to be capturing a view from a VCR or a different analog source that might not be controlled by time code and DV, you can do non controllable device. You know if you are using PAL, you can switch to PAD or HD: it all depends on what you are using. Now the capture input and the device control. They might get messed up from time to time for some reason; like let's say it gets to non controllable device and you know you're using PAL killer if you have someone else that uses the computer who knows what kind of stuff that they might change with this. So if it gets messed up, you don't need to know exactly all of these, what they mean to know which one is set. All you have to do is just go right back up to final cut pro, easy set up, and change it from custom cause now the values has been changed back to NTSC to DV, or PAL if you are using it, and just click set up and it will take a second to take effect, but if you notice in the upper right here under capture settings, it changes. It changes and everything is kosher again. So if someones messes with your stuff, you can get it back no problem. Again the scratch disk, this is where the files are going to be captured to. It shows your free space, your 21 gigs, and that translates then into minutes which then is 97, and you can click scratch disk and it brings up the scratch disk window, which we have seen before, and you can change the values. A couple of things that I didn't cover that I want to go over now is the limit capture export file and limit capture now. Limit capture export is basically if you're low on space and you don't want it to capture over a certain amount of hard drive space. We don't need to worry about that now really, because hard drives are so cheap and they have huge storage amounts. Now the limit capture now, that is when you are capturing using the capture now, which I will explain in the next clip, limiting it to a capturing for a certain amount of time. I like to keep it off because personally I like to have total control of what I'm capturing, but you can always set that to 30 minutes or 60 minutes; you just kind of let it capture.
