Hi my name is Dan and I'm here with Expert Village and today I'm going to show you how to tie the icicle hitch. The icicle hitch is a knot that did previously of before its invention thought was impossible. A that is it is able to be tie on to a taper object and wood stand a pole going down the taper. You can also tie it on a regular round object. Which would be more likely during a camping situation. Again by wrapping three times upward around the icicle or the taper piece. You'll have your third wrap form a bight with the tail leading out the same way as the not working end of you line. Wrap both ends around and through the bight. Tight them and there you have the icicle hitch. I can tie it for you one more time. Make three loops going up your taper item. Make a twist or a bight, put a loop in it, and feed both end through that loop and tighten and there you have the icicle hitch.
