Toenailing with a Nail Gun
This is Rob McManhon for Expert Village. Now when you are toenailing because you don't have the strength coming right through you want to have at least four nails, so that if any pressure hits this way or this way it is not going to kick your stud over. The other important thing when you are toenailing: your object is to come through at this angle so that you are staying inside of the edge of you stud, catching it at about 45 degrees. You don't want to have it blowing out this way so that it is showing. You don't want to have to steep. This method coming at that angle here, penetrating the plate at this point with the opposing nail coming the same way will give it the most strength. The four corners are fastened and it won't twist or move.
