Using the Foot Pedal on a Sewing Machine

On behalf of expertvillage.com, I am Neal Jones with A Perfect Fit Alterations and we are at 102 Main Street, Burleson, Texas and our phone number is 817-447-3522. Continuing through our machine, we have completed the threading process, we have brought our thread from the bobbin area at the bottom, we have brought it up through and we set the machine up for sewing. Now the next thing that we have to do is we have to bring our foot control, now we did talk about the foot control briefly earlier but the foot control is an electronic rheostat which controls the speed of the sewing machine with only on exception. We do have another speed control on here and the reason that there are two speed controls on the machine is that there are certain stitches and certain ways that we complete certain projects that require that the machine goes very slowly to do certain things and if we did all of the speed control from this foot control, it would require extra thought process to be able to move your foot very slowly up and down. So what this control enables you to do, it works in conjunction with this one, well it’s on a little tortoise which is slow, that means you can push this all the way down and the machine will still only go slowly and while you’re concentrating on making your project, it is one little helpful thing that enables you to concentrate on your project. Now we have a plug here, now on some earlier machines, this machine is fairly typical but on some machines we will have separate plugs for the foot control and for the power cord. In this particular case we have a combination, so when we plug this in we will both get the light, we will get the lights up here to tell us what stitch we need and we will be able to run the machine.
