Tips for Making Fake Bullet Wounds with Makeup

My name is John Mays. Some people refer to me as “Evil” John Mays. I’m a makeup effects artist and I’m here today to demonstrate some makeup techniques for Expertvillage.com. Now we’ve put the adhesive on the bandage, we’re also putting it on the appliance - on the back of it, giving it a good little coating and we’ll touch the two together here in a minute and just kind of work it into position. Normally this would be sitting on a tabletop, but for the purposes of the viewing audience here, we want to kind of show all that’s going on. We’re taking the appliance and putting it on the surface we’ve prepped on her head here. Glue side to glue side. Now we’ve got the appliance on there, you kind of want to work it in there just a little bit, make sure it’s got a good grab. And Angie, does it feel like anything is about to fall off? No. And let’s see, the stitches are in good shape, we’ve got one or two here that are giving us a little grief, but we’ll work around that.
