How to Write a Fiction Book

Hi, I'm Laura from youngwritersworkshops.com and I'm going to talk about how to write a fiction book. How you write a fiction book, your approach will really be determined by what type of fiction book you're writing. If you're writing a children's fiction book, for example a picture book, you might choose language that's really appealing to a child, focus on one idea or concept and develop it in a way with playful language and repetition that a child will really respond to. If you're writing a form of fiction such as a novel, you might begin by an outlining some, develop some of the characters and then let the story unfold and tell it in a way, or write in a way that you have a set amount of hours per day you dedicate the writing the novel. Other form of fictions like short stories, or poetry, it will be different. You'll, but I believe that writing a certain amount of hours a day for any of the longer form of fiction is a really important discipline to set for yourself. In any form of fiction, from children's books to a novel, you want to use editing. When you've written your work, go back and edit, do a second draft, a third draft, revise to sharpen your craft, using more detail stronger word choice, describing as many of the settings and characters as you can. So those are some of the ideas about how to write a fiction book.
