How to Check for a Transmission Fluid Leak
Hi! This is John on behalf of expertvillage.com. In this video clip, I will be showing you how to check for transmission fluid leaks. When checking for transmission fluid leaks, the first place I typically check is the seal, where the transmission fits together. Sometimes this seal will go bad and transmission fluid will leak through there. The next place that I will typically check is each location that any type of a component will go into the transmission. At these points, they are very susceptible to leaking. Many transmissions will also have the transmission fluid drain plug. Again, this is a point that you will want to check and make sure that no transmission fluid is leaking from. Typically when you have a transmission leak it may be caused by a bigger problem and as with most transmission problems, they can get to be a bit pricey at times.
