Details of East Coast Swing Steps for Beginning Ballroom Dancing
Hi! On behalf of expertvillage.com, I’m Kelly-Anne and I’m here with my partner Fred. We will be demonstrating basic ballroom dancing. For the lady, basic step is right, left, right, left, right, left, right, left, to the right, to the left, rock step, right, left, rock step. When doing this, it’s good to keep your knees slightly bent. You should have some balance and very small steps. You will get tired very quickly if you don’t take small steps. The whole east coast swing is a little more relaxed. It’s a more social dance; it’s down here. This is a closed position hold. To execute the under arm turn, I’ll let one hand above her eyelevel, inviting her to turn. Notice, I steer using this hand. I pull, I push, I let her out. This connection that we have here in hand is very important. It lets the lady know where she wants to go. Now, on the under arm turn, notice I change my angle 90 degrees to pick her up. Thank you for viewing our demonstration on expertvillage.com. For more information, you can visit my website 56dance.com. For more information about me and where I learn to dance, you can visit keysdancecenter.com.
