Rumba Framework in Beginning Ballroom Dancing
Hi! On behalf of expertvillage.com, I’m Kelly-Anne and I’m here with my partner Fred. We will be demonstrating basic ballroom dancing. This next dance we’re doing for you is the American rumba. It’s a Latin dance and it’s a basis for a lot of Latin dancing. Proper dance frame for the rumba is expressed like this. A little different in traditional ballroom frame, which would be more open. Rumba, we’re a little closer together and our arms a little more vertical. Our hands are closed and you have little bit of connection here, but we’re not squeezing our partner’s hand. We are in dance frame. The man’s left hand is gently holding the ladies. His right hand is halfway down her back, applying slight pressure. Our Latin frame is a little closer together than our standard or ballroom frame. Thank you for viewing our demonstration on expertvillage.com.
