The Subwoofer for Home Theater System Setup

There are two types of subwoofer that you can use for your home entertainment system. An active which is a powered speaker with its own built in power supply or passive speaker which will require the use of an outside power source such as an amplifier. Here we are using an active subwoofer. The subwoofer only requires an audio source from a basic RCA cable sent from your receiver. A passive or non-powered speaker will not have a built in power supply and most likely will have a speaker wire connection.
