How do you get dizzy? The first time i played i didn't get dizzy. This women has serious problem. My friend learned to play the flute by her, and she was kicked out of the band! I learned from Dame Cramer, pro flute player. We did a duet together. This women is a maniac. Is she even a women?

They won't subside with time if the cause of your pain is incorrect hand position... I suggest anyone who wants to play flute get a real teacher! It's really the best way to go!

Flutes_of_song, at least that person corrected her mistakes in the video... you simply remark about how that person is being mean etc... and doing so accomplishes nothing. However correcting errors in this video means a new flutist will receive the proper starting instructions. Although I'm not an advocate of personal insults against Sarah. I appreciate her serious teaching style.

Seriously. ya, I didn't like the way she demonstrated the C scale, but that doesn't mean im going to immediately judge her as a person and start righting hateful comments about her. You're probably just jealous because you aren't as good a flutist as her.

Just a little note on the person writing nasty comments about Sarah. You may be the best flute player in the world but the way to put in your comments, you are the worst - right to be called idiot!

Common Problems with Flutes
Hi, my name is Sarah from Expert Village.com. Today, I want to talk to you about some things to expect when you first start playing your flute. As I said earlier, flute is one of the instruments that takes the most air. And naturally, when you first start playing you are going to feel a little dizzy. Should you feel dizzy, I would say just sit down for a second and let it go away and then keep doing it. Of course, all of these things will go away with time. Another common thing to happen is your hands will hurt. After moving like this a lot your hands might hurt, your wrist, and your fingers. When this happens, do not continue playing, if your hands really hurt. You need to let your hands rest for a little while, and then continue. Usually, this will subside with time. Another thing to consider is that your arms might get tired of holding your flute up. This may ache a little bit but just rest and then continue and all these things will subside with time.
