Homemade Toys for Pet Ferrets

Hi there! My name is Fran Friedman and I’m with Morning Store Animal Sanctuary and I am here to talk to you about nice toys for ferrets on behalf of expertvillgae.com. I have a really neat toy here that somebody actually made and then sold on E-Bay. I was the lucky one to bid on it and get it for our ferrets. It lies down and can either be the bottom of the cage or the bottom of the play area. All it is, is legs of jeans or corduroy pants that they have been sewn on and they have ends and outs and then they have other corduroy material that is just flat. These could have been someone’s old clothes. You could certainly make this out of jeans, the legs of jeans or the arms of shirts. Ferrets just love tunnels and this is a great toy because it is soft and cuddly. You don’t find any ferrets after they are playing with this. They usually go all into it and then they all go to sleep, so you have to dig them out. It is very easy to get into from the middle, from the end in case they do get in there and go to sleep. It is a really safe toy and is nice and soft. Our ferrets love it and we put it down and let them play with it for a couple of weeks and then I take it away to wash it and I leave it out of the cage for about another 2 weeks so that when I do put it in, they think it is new, even though its not.
