Fixing Imperfections in Wood with an Orbital Sander

I'm Rob McManhon with Expert Village. Let me show you the technique for using the random orbit sander. Now this is a piece of mahogany here and if you can see this closely when it came out of the mill the planer left these light marks that are perpendicular to the grain as it was shooting out. This is cause by shatter of the planer blades as it is being run through. Now pretty much every finish piece of wood would have this. When you put on the clear finish especially if it got a high gloss you are going to see that. So to get rid of it you just clean it with your random orbit and you just keep it in motion. I'm going to change the speed down a little bit so you don't dig in to much. Move this blades before they fall.
