Hello! My name is Reggie Whitehead. Today I am going to be speaking with you about growing tropical ferns courtesy of the Tropical Fern Exotic Plant Society and on behalf of expertvillage.com. Today we will talk about what ferns are. Ferns are some of the oldest plants on the planet. They have been around for about 350 million years and the plant that is standing behind me is called angioctorferst. This is one of the few ferns that have been around for 350 million years. There are also records stating back to the actual plants. These plants are typically from Southeast Asia. In Southeast Asia the ferns can grow approximately 22 feet long but in cultivation they can actually reach about 15 to 20 feet long. The Angioocterfester features a family of about either 1 or 200 species of plants. This angioocterrest Vectra. While this plant was not found in Southeast Asia, it was picked up in Jamaica and was brought there by Castleton Garden but it is a tropical plant and it grows well here in South Florida.
