Hi, I'm Les Whitley. Today I'd like to talk to you about how to define the muscles of your arms. When we talk about definition or improving definition, it's basically seeing more of the musculature of the arms. And in doing so, we need to minimize the body fat that's covering over those muscles. That comes in two different ways. You increasing your calorie expenditure by your daily activities, as well as moderating your nutritional intake, or the food that you take in for your body. That food should support that lean developed overall look and not detract away from that. So if you're taking in excess sugar, excess fat, or just too much food in general, you're taking yourself further away from that goal than you are closer to that goal. So keep that in mind when you're talking about your nutritional program and the foods that you eat, and you prepare your meals for the weeks ahead. Also too, the daily activities. Not just while you're at exercise, but your overall daily lifestyle. The more active you are, typically the leaner you are, therefore the more defined those muscles will appear. Your strength training exercises will take you a long way, but you're going to hide the fruits of your labors by not having an overall lean look. And in doing so, we're talking about minimizing body fat levels throughout the entire body, not just in one particular area. The arms are a very focal point when it comes to summertime because it's most visible, but that body fat will be reduced from your overall body to give your overall body--not only just your arms, but your legs, midsection--that overall toned and defined look that everyone seeks.
