How to Define Your Upper Arms

Hi, I'm Les Whitley. I'd like to talk to you a little bit today about how to develop defined upper arms, which means the shoulders, bicep and tricep complex of the upper arm. In doing so, you've got to stimulate that muscle for maximum growth to give you a good muscular developed base. But once you get that good muscular developed base, you have to reduce the body fat levels in order to be able to see the fruits of your labor. So, muscle building exercises such as a bicep curl, by utilizing dumbbells or barbell, to strengthen and tone the muscles will get you a good start, but in order to see the results of that, you've got to reduce that overall body fat level to develop that nice, toned look. In doing so, you've got to modify your diet to reduce the calories you're taking in or take in more quality, higher quality foods. But also increase your energy expenditure by being more active overall in your daily lifestyle. Not just when you're spending time exercising, while you're on the treadmill or out for a jog, but also the time that you spend away from the gym--that's around the house, at your work, wherever you may be--to have an overall active lifestyle the rest of your life. It's not just achieve those bigger goals and then stop, it's a lifelong process that requires a lot of time, a lot of effort, a lot of energy, and a lot of patience to see results.
