Collage Palette: Dried Leaves

So something else that's a really good thing to use that I actually tend to like using but that it's much more delicate is drying leaves. If you live somewhere, we have a great great peak foliage season such as I do, there's some really great colors that you can get out of dried leaves. One of the things though that you want to be careful with leaves is that number one they're very fragile, they tend to break very easily when you're working with them. So they're a little bit more delicate to work with. Also, they are biodegradable. They biodegrade a lot faster than processed paper does. So when you're working with your different adhesives, or protecting seals, you want to sort of be thinking about making sure that all areas of the leaves are covered because you'll be risking the aeration factor that will biodegrade the leaves over time. So any of the pieces that I've ever worked with using these really delicate leaves, I'm making sure that I'm sealing the surface of them pretty thoroughly.
