Kid-Friendly Snacks

Hi! I’m Lisa Krone from the Best Epicurean and I am here on behalf of expertvillage.com and today we are making kid friendly snacks. So what I’ve done on my plate is I laid out a couple of snacks that I like to share with my kids. I made a Waldorf salad with cubed apples, grapes, celery and walnuts and mixed a little bit of mayonnaise with it to bind it together. I took some crackers that I had and a little bit of a cheese log that I left over from the party that I had earlier this week and put it out there. I used a little spreader here so that the kids can have that and I also grabbed some nuts left over from that party. I usually go to the store and buy pre-sliced cheese because that makes it easier for the kids to reach it right out of the refrigerator. I take that cheese; I fold it over like this and check it out. It is cracker sized. They can put that on there on a separate plate. I have also taken some pomegranate seeds from some pomegranates and I just lay that out on a plate. The other thing that I love to do is take a hard boiled egg, put it in my egg slicer, slice it up, grab some slices, lay it out on the plate like this, grab a cracker and put a tiny bit of mayonnaise like that on there, grab a nice piece of sliced egg and place it on top and then I have a great snack for my kids. I’ll put this out just so they can eat it and there I have a great kid friendly snack. Its low in fat, high in protein, they get the great vitamins from the pomegranates and that way I don’t have to worry that they are eating something that is not healthy for them.
