How to Perform the Shipwreck Card Trick

Hi, I'm magician Paul Weatherbee, and I'm going to tell you a quick story. It's a quick story about the royal family. You see, there were four boats, and each member of the royal family got on a boat. First, an ace got on a boat, and then, a jack got on a boat with one of the aces. Then a queen got on the boat right behind the jacks, and finally, the kings boarded the boats. A terrible, terrible storm came up. Everything got all mixed up. The ships were tossed. The hill was blowing, and I'll cut the cards a few times just to show you how mixed up things got. Here we go. After, the clouds went away, and the sun came out. All of the people that were on the boats swam to shore. It was a very difficult time. But then, when the sun came out and they looked around, they all found that they'd found each other on a separate shore. All the aces are together, all of the jacks are together, all of the queens are together, and all of the kings are together. This is one of my favorite card tricks, because it's virtually self-working. All that you have to do is get the aces, the kings, the jacks, and the queens, and just follow the motions of the story. For example, we'll put the aces down. The They each got on a boat. Then you put the jacks on top of the aces. You put the queens on top of the jacks, and then you put the kings on top of the queens. And then just pick them up, and you can cut the cards and complete the cut. As long as there's more than two cards this trick will work. You can even have a spectator cut the cards. And then just deal the cards out, and the trick works itself just like this. You see, all of the aces are together; all of the jacks are together, all of the queens, and all of the kings. Until next time, have fun, and keep the magic in your life.
