Helen McMahon for Expert Village. We have our butterscotch brownies ready to go in the oven, which is 350 degrees we’ve set that before we started our project, and I just wanted to give you a recap of the ingredients. Our butterscotch brownies or blonde brownies as they’re called are made with: 1 stick of butter or margarine, 2 cups of light brown sugar, 2 eggs and those three ingredients are creamed together until they’re smooth. Then add 1 teaspoon of salt, 2 teaspoons of baking powder and 1 teaspoon of vanilla stirred in. Then 1 ½ cups of flour and beat in until it’s smooth and pure it into the pan and put on the nuts of your choice. So this is ready to go into the oven and it will bake in about 25 minutes. This is a convection oven and it circulates the air very evenly throughout, if you have an oven that has uneven heating you want to be sure to move the pan, change direction about half way through the baking so that it will bake evenly, otherwise the back becomes cooked too quickly and the front will still be a little bit undone.
