Adding Flour To Blonde Brownies

Hi! I’m Helen McMahon for Expert Village. We have our mixture for our butterscotch brownies right in this bowl. One more ingredient is necessary and that is the flour, this is unbleached flour, one can also use bleached flour but if feel that this better it gives it better product, it is enriched flour. Some recipes will tell to sift—I got tired of sifting about 35 years ago, so I just sort of loosen it up a bit like this, and if you keep your flour in a container of this sort it protects it from moisture and other elements that might get in there. And I just use the top for a scoop. No need to shift it if you kind of pack it in or loosen it up as you’re coming, as you’re before you actually do the measuring. 2 cups of flour is all it takes, and I usually stop the mixer when I add this, otherwise you have flour flying up in all over the place. It’s a good idea to pulse it when you add it just let it start and stop for a moment or two.
