Embossing With Rubber Stamps in Card Making

Hi! I’m Fran Bricken and I want to talk to you about embossing rubber stamps. This is really one of our favorite techniques, people that like to rubber stamp it gives such a nice effect and you need to use an embossing ink. It’s going to look kind of funny cause it’s just clear, you can see where I’ve actually stamped on that before, this is such a big stamp rather than stamp it this way I’m going to stamp it upside down so you can make sure that you get the whole area covered. This stamp looks great when it’s embossed but you just want to make sure that you’ve got it all covered, a little bit hard to tell but it has kind of a shiny look to it so you can tell that you’ve got it on there, you want to place it on your paper, this is a big stamp so I’m rubbing the whole stamp to make sure the whole surface does get down on the paper, lift that up very carefully and you can’t see a thing but there is a stamped image on there. You can actually use just a piece of cardboard, this is a nice little tray that makes it easy to use, you want to use embossing powder they come in all different kinds of colors, glitter effects but you just want to sprinkle it, cover the whole image this stamp is so big I’m going to do the whole page here, make sure you’ve got everything covered, lift it up kind of shake it off there as you can see it’s appeared to where the ink was, it already looks kind of neat like that but it’s going to look even better after you set it with your heat gun and that’s what embossing is it gives it a raised appearance. You just want to place it close to the ink and you’ll be able to tell it’ll start getting a little darker and it’ll raise up over the ink and that will give you an embossing look which makes a very nice effect, it’s great on other colored paper too.
