Illegal Youth Wrestling Moves
Hi! My name is Matthew Moyles. I’m a coach here at Minisink Valley. I’m here on behalf of Expert Village and today we’re going to go over competitive wrestling. The next thing we’re going to go over is some moves that are considered illegal or potentially dangerous. First one is what’s known as clasp. A clasp is when I lock my hands around my opponent in a bottom position. So if Josh is down, I cannot lock my hands around him like this in any way, like this or like this. I cannot lock my hands like this; this is considered a clasp and your opponent will get awarded 1 point. Another illegal move is called the full nelson. That is when you lock your hands underneath your opponent’s arms and place it behind his head like this. This is called the full nelson, and once again it is an illegal move. If I perform a full nelson on Richard if we were at a match Richard would get 1 point for me performing an illegal move.
