Hi this is Jenny with simple beautiful crafts on behalf of expertvillage.com. I happen to be crazy about baskets and I came up with a shadow box using this rectangular basket and these baskets that I think you are going to enjoy as much as I do. When you are going to be making shadow box out of something as fragile as a basket you need to give it some support. What I like to use is dial stick or even balsa wood and put it in the back of my basket either in the middle or at the top. If you are going to put it at the top you want to put another one at the bottom so your basket would hang flat against the wall and of course you don't want your dial sticks to extend father from the basket. You can use Elmers glue to hold this on and once it is dry you are ready to go. Then I like to put a simple picture hanger on it as well so that I have something to hang it onto the wall with other then the wood itself. This works really well but you can hang it just from the wood. Once you have that secure you are ready to make you basket in a basket. I found these lovely baskets some of them I found at the thrift store and some of them I found in the craft store. I just put some artificial flowers in this one and I found this adorable little tea pot basket that is going to go right here. Now I'm going to set them in here until there are just exactly the way that I want them and once they are the way that I decide like them I'm going to take either this copper wire or my silver wire and put it through the basket going through the weave so I don't ruin the basket and then also put it through the weave of the big basket. Once I have those set in the way that I want them I found this cute little hat woven hat and I'm going to secure it with wire right here in my basket. I'm also going to take this basket and put it right here in the middle on these three little baskets are going to go 1,2,3, here or hang from the roof of the basket. Once I'm finish with it if I don't like it I can always take the wire out and put in back in a different place because I haven't ruin the weave when I put the baskets in. this is going to be my shadow box baskets inside a basket.
