Hi! I'm Rob Lowes from Carlson Wagonlit and Lowes travel on behalf of expertvillage.com. Today we are going to speak about trip advisor. In this clip, I am going to speak about currencies. Obviously around the world there are many currencies that can be used in different countries. Obviously the US dollar being excepted pretty much universally; however in many countries you much purchase the local currency in order to pay a departure tax or it may be easier to buy local products using their local currency., Now in your Europe obviously have the Euro that has been consolidated a lot of currencies, so you have a lot fewer currencies that you need to worry about. Some pruriences have not switched to the 2 Euro so you will need to purchase Franks if you are going to be in Switzerland. Now many banks using your debit card or bank cards, you can withdraw local currency in many countries around the world now. You should check with your bank to see that the ATM's will work on your system so that enables you to not so enables you to not take as much cash with you in a lot of cases. Travel checks again are a great form of security in case your money is stolen and there are still a lot of travelers check being sold out there so not a bad idea just in case they get stolen and they can be replaced; cash cannot be replaced. Of course, credit cards are pretty much universally accepted around the world. A few exceptions where American Credit Cards may not be accepted in Cuba but many countries will take Visa, Master Card and American Express and your local purchase will be converted back to your home currency whether that be Canadian, US dollars or whatever. So it is a great idea to take minimal cash these days because cash is around the world.
