Hi! My name is John Armstrong with expertvillage.com. I am a professional guitar instructor and today we are going to be studying beginning jazz guitar. Next we are going to give you another practice progression now, we are going to move to the key of G major and this little progression should be a 2 part progression. The first part starts with a G major 7 chord, my 1 major 7 to my 2 minor 7 and A minor 7, my 3 minor 7 to B minor 7 back to A minor 7; something like that probably put a measure on each chord. B minor 7, we'll repeat that progression G major 7, B minor 7 back to A minor 7. Now we are going to go to the next part of the progression. It is going to start with C major 7 which I can either do here or I can choose and do it here. Then it's going to follow that with B minor 7, my minor 3 chord to A minor 7, my minor 2 back to B minor 7, my 4 chord C major 7, my 3 chord, my 2 chord and then it is going to go to my D7 chord and resolve back to my 1. So here's the entire progression; 2,3,4, 2,3,4. C major 7 and then I can repeat the progression.
