Etude Number Nineteen for Classical Guitar: Part 2
Hi! My name is John Armstrong with expertvillage.com. I’m a professional guitar instructor, and today I’ll be discussing some advanced classical guitar pieces. Okay, now we’ll discuss the next phrases on Etude number 19 by Carcassi starting off here with the G. We’re still basing this out of E minor here, go up to the A. Go in like a D7 chord with a E note in the bass. Do a suspension on that. Here’s kind of a B7 chord with an E in the bass. Embellishing that. Back to E minor. That kind of completes are next phrase. So starting again there at the 3rd measure. If you’ll notice there, I’m kind of fluctuating my tempo within the accompaniment, gradually getting maybe faster as I get louder and slow as I get softer; it helps to bring out kind of the drama within the piece.
