Pezzo Tedesco One for Classical Guitar
Hi! My name is John Armstrong with expertvillage.com. I’m a professional guitar instructor, and today I’ll be discussing some advanced classical guitar pieces. The next piece I’d like to discuss is another piece in the key of A minor, or at least modulates back and forth into the key of A minor and it’s a piece called Pezzo Tedesco, which is a piece that literally means German dance. It’s a Italian renaissance lute piece, actually discovered by a man named Oscar Chilesotti. Mostly chordal, there’s really no arpeggio pieces in here, but first I’d like to start off by discussing the first 2 full measures. Starting off with an A minor chord, just very light. This A note, I would stress a lot of vibrato and use a rest stroke with that A note. Basically moving into E minor 7 chord. F sharp E, then still the E minor 7. So, I moved from A minor to E minor 7 chord. Notice at the beginning of the 2nd measure, with that squiggly line there, that’s a glissando symbol, meaning that we just kind of roll; it’s a rallentando . We’re just rolling, almost like an extremely fast arpeggio. First 2 measures again.
