Andantino Two for Classical Guitar
Hi! My name is John Armstrong with expertvillage.com. I’m a professional guitar instructor, and today I’ll be discussing some advanced classical guitar pieces. Next, I’d like to discuss the first 4 measures of the 2nd half of the piece here. Here we introduced the tremolo technique, and if you noticed, by the right hand markings and indications that they have written above here, we are alternating back and forth on this open G note using IM and then I finger again. Little triplets there. Here’s the piece here with the measure. Ideally, you would like to with the M finger, when you first strike the E and C notes, you see the symbol above M telling you to use a rest stroke there. So, rest, free, free, free, rest, free, as far as the strokes go. Same thing with the next measure. Here, same deal and then back to that measure. We have 5 of the Gs there. So here’s that whole measure phrase right there that kind of introduces the next section using that alternating tremolo technique. Again. When using the rest strokes allow you to do there with the chord parts is to bring those voices out so that the free strokes alternating on the G note sound a little bit more on the background. They make it sound more like the accompaniment, which is what it is.
