Not Using the American Flag as Decoration

American flag etiquette and the rules concerning and addressing our nation's flag is something that ever American should become thoroughly familiar with. Hi, I'm Captain Joe Bruni, with over three decades of fire fighting and EMS experience. Our nation's flag is never meant to be used as any form of general decoration. There is blue, red, and white bunting available for such purposes. Our nation's flag is a living thing. This type of decoration, with its union blue field of stars and its stripes is considered to be an American flag. The American flag should never be used as any type of general decoration. There is blue, red, and white bunting available for such purposes, and if bunting is used, the blue field should be up at the top of the decoration. Again, this type of decoration is considered to be a true living American flag, and should not be used as any general type of decoration. I'm Captain Joe Bruni. Stay safe, and we'll see you next time.
