Flag etiquette and the rules of our American flag is something that every American should be familiar with when it comes to displaying or carrying a flag in procession. Hi, I'm Captain Joe Bruni, with over three decades of fire fighting and emergency medical service experience. Our nation's flag, when carried in a procession, or displayed with other national flags, should be displayed at the flag's own right, from a staff or pole. When this flag is at the own flag's right, it will be viewed from the viewer's left side. The flag should be of approximately same size as the other national flags, and all flags should be displayed at the same height. International law prohibits the displaying of one nation's flag above that of another nation's flag. When our flag is displayed with other national flags it should be displayed or carried to the flag's own right, which would be at the viewer's left when viewing the display of flags, and the flag should not be displayed higher than any other nations' flag. International law prohibits this from occurring when national flags are flown together. I'm Captain Joe Bruni. Stay safe, and we'll see ya' next time.
