Fireworks Safety: Avoid Injuries On Infants

You know consumer sparklers can add fun to any holiday event or party. Hi, I'm Captain Joe Bruni with over three decades of firefighting and emergency medical service experience. I'm going to talk about one of the safety aspects to using the common consumer sparkler. Infants and small children should never be held or cradled by anyone that's going to partake in the fun and use the common consumer sparkler at any party or holiday event. Holding small children or infants and the use of common sparklers or any type of consumer fireworks never mixes. Anything can happen to the child or to the adult unexpectedly while this device is burning. The common sparkler burns from eleven hundred to eighteen hundred degrees and emits showers of sparks. The stick and the sparks are very hot which could add to the burn injuries or causing some type of other injury at any party or holiday event. To keep this from turning tragic never use any type of consumer sparkler or firework while holding or cradling any type of child or infant. I'm Captain Joe Bruni.
